If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you got to see a preview of today’s Wednesday Work Chic outfit! It’s one of my own and probably my absolute favorite outfit at the moment. I’ve worn it in the late summer and now on into fall because the colors just work. Navy, tan/light tan, an oak colored bag, and some sparkly accessories! How can you go wrong with that!
So here’s the low down on my outfit: The shirt is a flowy shirt with chiffon overlay in navy that has a banded bottom–this is great for us bigger girls when we want to hide a bit of “fluff”. I got it at Steinmart, a designer discount department store that has some great clothes for everyone from the petite ladies to those of us with a little more added to us! I pair that with some light tan or khaki colored trousers to off set the darker shirt. The ones I’m wearing came from Macy’s and are a wide leg. I also wear a nude pump or wedge–in the summer it was my Calvin Klein wedges I’m getting a ton of life from and now it’s my nude Tory Burch wedges that are slightly too big, but they were a steal, so I wear them anyway since you can’t really tell. The bag is my lovely Mulberry oversized Alexa in Oak. I haven’t carried this bag in a while, and I don’t know why because I LOVE it! It works for dressy and casual so well. My necklace is from Chloe + Isabel’s new fall collection. The semi-precious stones are fabulous against the navy shirt! I’ve also included a picture (from another day) of the earrings that match the necklace. I LOVE this collection!
So why is this my ffavorite outfit? I think the simplicity of it makes it great for any workplace. It’s not overly dressy, and it’s not casual, but it is still stylish and comfortable. Working in a high school and having to walk around three campuses all day, you need some comfort! But I also think it is important to look chic and business like. To me the colors of this outfit are classic, chic, stylish, and perfect for every day whether you are at work or out shopping with the girls!
